Below are links for Chinese and Japanese digitally restored posters that were used in the 1920s and 1930s as advertising art.

Enter the bygone cosmopolitan world of 1920's and 1930's Shanghai, China, known as “The Paris of the East", where foreigners came from around the world to prosper and compete. As the apex of commerce in post-dynastic China, it became a thriving hub and the center for a booming poster and commercial art industry selling everything from cosmetics to tobacco. The following exclusive exhibition is the world's largest collection of digitally restored vintage posters, including some from Japan & Manchukuo. The entire restoration project was completed by one person, taking over 6,000 hours. Most of the originals have been lost, confiscated, or damaged, and many are by now extinct, existing only in this digital format. They have all been painstakingly and faithfully restored, centimeter by centimeter, to appear as the day they were first printed, 100% Digitally Reborn.

The Old Orient Museum is a showcase set up to allow art lovers to enjoy the world's largest collection of digitally restored vintage posters, many of which exist only in this digital format. We do not sell prints of posters; however, anyone interested in a licensing arrangement (publishers, architects, decorators, etc.) can make an inquiry stating your interests, desired sizes, and intended usage in the box below. All digital masters were restored in high resolution, so they can be enlarged up to as high as 150% to 200% of original dimensions for use as large format wall decor in restaurants, drinking establishments, homes, or anywhere else that needs a dose of exotic, vintage mystique.
